A National Initiative from Ceca

Celebrating America’s Care Force is a national initiative that uses effective storytelling to highlight the invaluable contributions of care workers across the continuum of care—in hospitals, rehab facilities, skilled nursing centers, senior living communities, homecare and hospice organizations and more.

Ceca is a nonprofit dedicated to recognizing and rewarding exceptional caregivers who improve the human experience in care communities. We know that people are the backbone of the American care industry, providing compassionate care to millions of individuals every day. And with a workforce suffering from high levels of burnout and chronic staffing shortages straining the industry, Ceca believes deeply that caregivers’ contributions are worth honoring and that the industry is worth celebrating.

Ceca is joining forces with other industry advocates in a strategic collaboration to advance this mission, and we are asking for healthcare organizations far and wide to help share the call.

If you are a healthcare organization looking to share the call with your audience(s), there are two text samples below. One is geared toward collecting stories about great healthcare experiences in order to recognize an outstanding caregiver, and the other is designed to collect personal experiences about why people choose to care for others as a career.

Share Your Story! Recognize a Care Worker

Most of us have experienced a significant act of care—from a doctor, nurse, CNA or other non-clinical worker in housekeeping, dining, reception or other departments—that made a tremendous impact on our life or someone else’s life. We’d love to hear your story about an act of care that you received or witnessed that made a difference. Help us celebrate the above and beyond efforts of those who work in our nation’s hospitals, nursing homes and long-term care communities. We are looking for positive and impactful stories of quality care through:

Recognition for someone working in the field from a co-worker or leader
Recipients of care talking about their healthcare experience

Please share your story about how someone made an impact on your care experience or helped improve the care experience in your organization. You can help shine a light on the incredible efforts of caregivers and celebrate the compassion and dedication that makes healthcare workers truly extraordinary!

Working in healthcare is hard, and we recognize that it takes dedication to show up for those you care for each day. We’d love for you to share your story of why you choose to care—what drew you to this industry in the first place, what keeps you going, or an experience that continues to inspire you to this day. We are looking for positive and impactful stories that capture the journey of care workers by answering:

What got you into the field?
What do you love most about your work caring for others?
What has been the most rewarding thing in your experience or what’s your fondest memory of working in the sector?
