Ceca proudly announces Sheila Moore as a recipient of a 2025 National Ceca Award! Sheila is a CNA at Sprenger Anchor Lodge Retirement Community, in Lorain, Ohio—an assisted living and skilled nursing center offering continuing care and rehabilitation from a picturesque lakeside retreat along the banks of Lake Erie.

Sheila has been a compassionate and dedicated presence at Anchor Lodge for over 25 years. Known for her reliability, positive attitude, and deep commitment to residents, she serves as a trusted mentor, ensuring new staff are well prepared and supported. Working in her own community, Sheila is often a familiar face to residents and families, providing comfort from the moment they arrive. She goes above and beyond to personalize care, even bringing special supplies to delight residents. Despite suffering her own personal tragedy, Sheila returned to work to heal through serving others. Her selflessness, resilience, and ability to find joy in every moment make her an extraordinary caregiver and teammate.

Nate Hamme, President and Executive Director of Ceca Foundation, commented, “It’s an honor to present this award to Sheila in partnership with the Ohio Health Care Association. Sheila’s 25 years of dedicated service to Anchor Lodge is a testament to her loyalty and exemplifies a true caregiving spirit. We are humbled to recognize her for her inspirational work, even as she faced her own personal challenges and grief. Through it all, she remains committed to showing up for those she serves, and her positive attitude makes her an extraordinary caregiver and teammate worthy of the award.”

An award reception will be held on April 29 at the Sprenger Anchor Lodge campus where Ceca President Nate Hamme will present the award to Sheila along with leadership from Sprenger Healthcare, Ohio Health Care Association, community leadership, co-workers, and residents and families. Additionally, she will receive a cash award of $2,500 and an engraved commemorative trophy.
